Butte 150 and 100 years ago

2014 marks the sesquicentennial of the first settlers and prospectors in Butte in 1864, and the centennial of the events of 1914 that triggered six yers of internationally significant labor unrest here.

1864 is also when Montana Territory was established, and 1914 is the year women's suffrage was established in Montana. We are working with the Montana Historical Society in connection with the Montana suffrage centennial. This project focuses on historical reports and summaries from those periods. The project will include the following types of materials.
